Learn about all the different factors and components that create a sustainable lifestyle.
Sustainability is a system or way to reuse our natural resources for a better world.
Sustainability is made up of three factors; Environment, Economy, and social.
In the sustainability barrel each factor is made up of other components are only able to go as high as the limiting factor. It is important to carefully care and protect for each component of the sustainability barrel to have a well sustained world.
Ecosystem: Biotic & Abiotic factors
Biotic: living things
Abiotic: not living things
Both Biotic and Abiotic factors affect the organisms, population and ecosystems.
Biofilms: are formed by bacteria.
Planktonic bacteria: bacteria by themselves flowing
If we were to put planktonic bacteria anywhere to attached to anything they will create a biofilm. Once they have attached they create slim layer around the bacteria like a protective home (host) for the bacteria. We cannot apply antibiotics because it does nothing. Biofilms are what make up chronic diseases. This is caused by the bacteria planktonic is interacted with a abiotic factor.
Organisms affect other organisms: predator vs, prey
Predator-prey relationship: In the foodchain the prey controls and affects the predator population.
Food web is a predator - prey web showing the food chain.
A change in the food web can affect the population of other animals.
